Candelaria, March 1, 2024.

The town of Candelaria in Tenerife has entrusted Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales as the new concessionaire of its street cleaning, solid urban waste collection and beach cleaning services. This was signed this morning by the mayoress of the municipality, María Concepción Brito, together with the general manager of Urban Services of the company, Antonio Gutiérrez, after the signing of a 7-year contract, with a total value of more than 21.5 million euros.

The arrival of Valoriza to Candelaria will mean a great improvement for the municipal services of the town. In this way, it will face a total renovation of the service machinery, which will be replaced by more efficient and sustainable vehicles.

Likewise, all the containers in the municipality will be replaced with a more modern and efficient model, as will be the case with the litter garbage cans. In addition, 10 solar compactor garbage cans will be incorporated.

In total, Valoriza will invest 4.7 million euros in new vehicles and containers.

Organic fraction

Another of the 'star' measures of the contract will be the implementation of the selective collection of the organic fraction, with electronic lock containers. To this will be added other issues such as the scheduled collection of large bulky waste, the configuration of complete islands with all the fractions or the door-to-door collection service for paper, cardboard and organic waste in commercial establishments.

The awarding of this new concession in Candelaria strengthens Valoriza's position in the Canary Islands, where it already provides its services in other towns such as Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Arona, Puerto de la Cruz, Guía Isora and Telde, serving more than 515,000 inhabitants, which represents 23% of the population of the Canary Islands.
