Valoriza spearheads the creation of Circularis to drive progress towards more efficient waste management

The company has joined forces with Urbaser, FCC and PreZero in a new partnership established to help reduce landfill and accelerate the transition to a circular economy in Spain

Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, Urbaser, FCC and PreZero have pooled their expertise to launch Circularis, a new business association established with the aim of contributing to the transformation of the waste management model in Spain.

The initiative stems from a challenge shared across the entire sector: to make faster progress in reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfill and to make better use of the materials and resources it still contains.

Circularis aims to contribute to this process by creating a space for collaboration and dialogue between companies, public authorities and other stakeholders involved in waste management. From this platform, the association will work to promote solutions that increase material recovery, improve the utilisation of non-recyclable waste and advance towards meeting the European circular economy targets.

The launch of Circularis took place at the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, where the main areas of focus for this initiative – which brings together the knowledge and experience of its four founding companies – were outlined.

For Valoriza, being part of Circularis means contributing its expertise in waste management and treatment, and in developing solutions aimed at recovering resources and reducing landfill, to this new project.

The creation of the association also responds to an increasingly pressing reality in the sector: the transition towards a truly circular model requires combining different solutions and working in a coordinated manner. Prevention and reuse, increasing recycling, recovering materials and seeking alternatives for waste that cannot be recycled are all part of the same process.

Through its participation in Circularis, Valoriza brings its knowledge and technical expertise to a shared project that aims to help keep waste within the production cycle for longer and ensure that landfill becomes, increasingly, the last resort.
