Valoriza renews street cleaning and waste collection services in San Fernando de Henares for the next ten years

The new contract includes significant operational improvements, new machinery, technology, and service enhancements to continue providing more efficient and responsive service to residents

Valoriza will continue to provide street cleaning and waste collection services in San Fernando de Henares for the next ten years, following the renewal of the contract for more than 74 million euros.

This contract award represents further recognition of the company’s experience and capabilities in managing urban services, while also consolidating a project aimed at continuing to improve service quality and address the municipality’s needs.

The new contract covers the comprehensive provision of waste collection and street cleaning services, including the collection of different waste categories, street cleaning, maintenance and washing of waste containers, bulky item collection, cleaning of trash cans, and special measures in emergency situations, among other services.

Among the main changes are enhanced cleaning around trash containers during all three work shifts, increased collection frequencies in high-demand areas, and the expansion of the bulky waste collection service, which will now be provided three days a week.

In addition, the service will incorporate new machinery and specialized equipment, improve the cleaning of recycling bins with special attention during the summer months, and implement new technological solutions to optimize service management, such as graffiti detection systems using cameras installed on inspection vehicles.

The contract also provides for the installation of new containers for organic waste collection, a new visual identity for the service, and the development of communication campaigns aimed at encouraging citizen participation and proper waste management.
