Colombia, 4 September 2026.

Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales has received public recognition for its response following the earthquake that struck Colombia on 10 August. The commendation was made during the session of the Seventh Committee of the Senate of the Republic held on 2 September, where the Deputy Minister for Water, Mónica Saldarriaga, highlighted the response organised by the company through its subsidiaries Área Limpia Servicios Medioambientales and Área Limpia D.C.

From the very first hours after the emergency, Valoriza made various human, technical and logistical resources available to support the recovery efforts, helping to clear the affected areas and remove rubble.

The operation began in Quindío, the region where the company normally carries out its activities. Subsequently, in response to a call from the authorities, the work was extended to Pereira and Cali, outside its usual areas of operation.

The operation enabled the removal of 589 tonnes of rubble over more than 53 trips, for which specialised machinery, off-road vehicles and satellite connectivity systems, amongst other resources, were deployed.

The ability to deploy resources and equipment wherever they were needed made it possible to broaden the scope of the response and collaborate with the authorities during an exceptional situation.

The recognition given by the Senate highlights both the operational capacity of Valoriza and Área Limpia and, in particular, the commitment of the professionals who took part in the operation, whose work made it possible to respond swiftly to the needs that arose following the earthquake.

This response reflects the importance of having teams prepared to deal with extraordinary situations and capable of putting their expertise at the service of local communities and people when it is most needed.
