Valoriza promotes a new biomethane project in Cádiz together with Enagás Renovable and Waga Energy
The initiative will enable waste to be transformed into renewable energy equivalent to the consumption of 16,000 households per year

Cadiz, 30 September 2025.
Bioreciclaje de Cádiz —a public-private partnership involving Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, GS Inima and the Provincial Waste Consortium— has signed a strategic agreement with Enagás Renovable and Waga Energy to launch an innovative biomethane production project at the controlled landfill site in Medina Sidonia.
This project, which will begin in 2027, will recover up to 2,400 m³/h of biogas, generating around 80 GWh of biomethane per year. This production is equivalent to the energy consumption of 16,000 households and will prevent the emission of around 21,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, consolidating Andalusia's contribution to the European decarbonisation strategy.
According to José Antonio García Galdón, Managing Director of Waste Treatment at Valoriza: ‘With this new agreement with Waga Energy and Enagás Renovable, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, promoting a circular economy that encourages the conversion of waste into resources.’
With this project, Valoriza reinforces its position as a key player in the development of innovative waste management and renewable energy solutions, moving towards a more circular, efficient and sustainable model.
