Valoriza completes waste management work following the cold drop in the Port of Catarroja
The project, carried out as part of the Valencian Regional Government’s Endavant Plan, has enabled the removal and management of over 109,000 tonnes of waste generated following the floods of October 2024

Valencia, 14 May 2026.
Valoriza has completed the removal, treatment and management of waste resulting from the DANA of 29 October 2024 at the Port of Catarroja, a key initiative within the recovery process for the affected municipalities promoted by the Valencian Regional Government through the Endavant Plan.
The completion of the work was marked by an official ceremony held in Catarroja, attended by the special commissioner for the recovery from the DANA, Raúl Mérida; the Director-General for Quality and Environmental Education of the Valencian Regional Government, Jorge Blanco Coll; and the Mayor of Catarroja, Lorena Silvent Ruiz. Representing Valoriza was Mario Córcoles, the company’s representative, alongside the technical team responsible for the work carried out over the last few months.
The operation has involved a significant logistical, technical and environmental effort to restore normality to one of the areas most affected by the floods. In the municipality of Catarroja, Valoriza has managed the removal and treatment of over 109,000 tonnes of waste, including 35,000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste, 74,000 tonnes of sludge and soil, as well as 200 tonnes of hazardous waste and 70 tonnes of bulky waste, which were sent to authorised waste managers and local treatment plants.
This work has enabled progress to be made in the recovery of the affected area, ensuring the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible management of the waste generated following the weather event.
With the completion of this project, Valoriza reaffirms its commitment to responsible waste management and to supporting public authorities in complex post-emergency recovery processes, contributing to the reconstruction of the affected areas and to improving citizens’ quality of life.
