Telde begins to separate the organic fraction of the hand of Valoriza
The first phase of implementation of this service will focus on large producers of biowaste

Telde, September 13th, 2024.
Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, as part of the UTE concessionaire of the street cleaning and waste collection service of Telde (Gran Canaria), has launched the organic waste collection service through the brown container for biodegradable waste such as fruit, vegetables and greens, among other foods.
The presentation of the service was attended by the mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, and the councilor of the area, María Calderín, accompanied by the delegate of Valoriza in the Canary Islands, Javier Nombela. The event took place in the CEIP Esteban Navarro, since this first phase of implementation is aimed at large producers, a group that, by its activity, generates a large volume of organic fraction and includes schools, health, food and catering establishments.
During the presentation, Peña celebrated the implementation of this measure, “which will represent a qualitative leap in the waste collection service and reflects the commitment of the consistory with recycling, sustainability and care of our natural environment”.
For his part, Calderín emphasized the awareness and sensitization actions covered by the implementation of this new service. “We are going to develop a communication plan aimed at informing the large producers of organic waste in Telde of the leading role they play in this initiative. It is essential to count on their collaboration so that the implementation of this project obtains the expected results”.
